When
we set our minds to creating a new handle collection
together with Prof. Christoph Mäckler, an architect
who works in Frankfurt, it wasn’t the design
that dominated our initial deliberations but the
choice of material. We even jointly ran a much acclaimed
workshop on the subject at the Dortmund "U".
Christoph Mäckler loves natural materials.
Brass was his first choice, though in a raw polished
finish as opposed to the lacquered variant generally
on offer.
We then found it quite hard convincing our interlocutor
that his new design ought additionally to be made
available in aluminium and stainless steel.
