Philippe

Philippe
Starck, the mega-star of the 1990s, has never contented
himself with simply submitting plans for interior
designs. From the outset he has also created furniture
for them.
A
typical example is the famous chair for Café
Costes, which has since outlived the site of its
deployment. Fascinating industrial products followed:
office articles, bottles, cutlery, luggage, knives,
household gadgets, vases, carpets, toothbrushes.
FSB
was very keen indeed on asking this uncommonly productive
and also extraordinarily multifaceted designer to
try his hand at something as commonplace as a door
handle. Philippe Starck did just that and gifted
us some of his gritty French charm. |
